On December 4th, 1964, my father, Roberto Lima Villares, founded Villares Corretores de Seguros Ltda. He had been practicing in this area, as an inspector of the old Cia. Internacional de Seguros (International Insurance Corporation), headed then by the dearest and always reminded Dr. Celso da Rocha Miranda. The corporation was the school of many competent professionals of the current market, being fondly admired and reminded by everyone, once he adopted and forwarded to his team the basic principles regarding how to run an Insurance business. “The empires of the future are the empires of the mind.” (Sir Winston Churchill).

Insurance is TRADITION, CREDIBILITY and my father learned and implemented these principles at Villares Corretores de Seguros Ltda., which has been present in the market for more than four decades. It is impossible to mention Villares without talking a little about my family, once they inevitably interpose themselves. My professional career started in a very different way from my father’s. I got a graduate degree in Civil Engineering by Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro´s Federal University), in 1978 and practiced my profession at Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A. from 1980 up to 2004, when I decided it was time to take our Company over and continue the work that had been so well performed by my father, once I am the single daughter from Wilma and Roberto. There was an adaptation and learnship period, when I noticed the importance of our work and got committed with it and “the moment you commit, the universe conspires to assist you” (Goëthe). In 2007 my father thought I was ready to take Villares management over, once I had already built my professional universe and I had started to work with pleasure, agility and disembarrassment, being always guided by the ethics, transparency and professionalism transmitted by him.

Currently, together with Roberto, my advisor and my consultant, we have a deep conviction regarding the success of our development; we believe in it and act proactively.
We are always leading and motivating our team, transmitting confidence, initiative and team & collaboration spirit.

We are sure that the success of our development depends also on the partnerships we promote. Thus, we only work with Insurance Companies that we consider serious, ethical and professional.

We believe we are prepared and open to new challenges, always seeking to improve, in order to assist our Customers, which are our immensurable value asset. Japanese people introduced a word in the corporate vocabulary in the half of last century, in the occasion of their post-war industrial revolution – KAIZEN, which translated means “continuous improvement”, i.e., “do today better than you did yesterday; and tomorrow, better than you did today”. This is the saying that leads us.

Sometimes we commit mistakes, because we know that we don’t know everything, but we look forward to learning and repairing the mistake, because, as quoted by Franklin Delano Roosevelt: “It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.”
